Product Launch 2022 – Apple’s AR Glasses reach another milestone

At the beginning of 2022, according to rumors, Apple is supposed to turn the market upside down with a new product. Similar to the iPhone, they want to conquer the field of Augmented Reality Smart Glasses and are, according to a recent report from The Information on the right track to do so.

Apple is said to have reached another milestone in the development of Smart Glasses. With semi-transparent lenses, which work similar to 3D glasses in the cinema by means of a polarized system, the illusions of augmented reality and mixed reality should reach even more depth. Apple’s current products have left the prototype process and, according to company sources, will be ready for the market in two years.

However, there are also some challenges in developing a headset like the one Apple is planning. Particularly in the production of the augmented reality lenses, a great deal of precision work is required because the extremely thin layers of various synthetic materials can quickly lead to scratches, bubbles or other inclusions in the lens. Therefore the lenses have to be manufactured completely in clean rooms, which costs not only money but also time.

Little is yet known about the features of Apple AR glasses. It has been announced that there will be a built-in microphone that allows the user to give Siri commands. In addition, according to recent corporate news, the glasses will be able to control head movement to execute commands.

It remains to be seen how many of the features will eventually be in the final Apple AR glasses and whether they will really conquer the market in 2022. But I think we will hear a lot more about the current developments of Smart Glasses in the coming months.
