Amazon Monitron – Predictive Maintenance from Amazon

This year’s CES 2022 was once again about everything from metaverse to predictive maintenance via AI. So it’s good to take another look at the topic and see what else is on the market. It’s been a while since I reported on Amazon’s plans to create a system that monitors machines and signals maintenance work at an early stage – working title AWS “Thor”. Now the rumors have become reality, only the name is changing. Amazon Monitron is the final version of the early Thor plans.

Great were the expectations for Thor when the 2020 leak first saw the light of day. The system was supposed to change an entire industry and revolutionize machine maintenance forever. Through accurate analytics, the system was supposed to predict when a machine was likely to need maintenance, minimizing long downtimes and avoiding performance degradation.
