Artificial Intelligence will fundamentally change the business processes as we know them. Whether in factories, hospitals or our everyday lives – research institutions and companies around the world work every day to actively shape the future. But how does Germany compare internationally and which companies and institutions are actively involved in artificial intelligence?
The Learning Systems platform provides an answer to this question. It has set itself the task of showing how AI transforms everyday life and business and which projects are currently being developed in Germany. For this purpose, they have created the AI map, which gives an overview of the state of AI in Germany – across all industries, application scenarios and company types.
The data for the map comes from the Smart Data Forum, Fraunhofer IAIS, DFKI, VDI/VDE-IT, appliedAI and the Business Model Innovations working group. The project is a contribution of the Learning Systems platform initiated by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) and is intended to encourage other companies in the Federal Republic of Germany to also look into the opportunities of artificial intelligence and to integrate AI applications into process and business model innovations with the help of already active companies.
In my view, such a card is a valuable building block for driving digital transformation and improving the openness of German companies to artificial intelligence. Especially in Germany, when it comes to innovation, we tend first to observe what others are doing or to get the right experts at our side to accompany us on our way through collaboration or cooperation. The map thus provides a database of possible partners in the field of artificial intelligence, which provides companies with an initial opportunity to act.
